  1. I have seen several of the neighborhood kids poking around in the debris. It makes me nervous that some of them might try to venture inside of the houses, which could be extremely dangerous. It seems like for safety reasons the houses need to be torn down as soon as possible.

  2. Its separate property owners, so they may need to consult with each other a bit.

    Personally, I hope the neighborhood will use this moment to 1) consider what can be done to to stop incidents like this from happening again; I know OHNA (OH neighborhood association) may invite the fire department to a future meeting; 2) rally behind OHHIC (Oregon Hill Home Improvement Council, local community development corporation) which is currently trying to bring three new houses to the 600 block of Laurel Street.

  3. Could these be rebuilt? I’m constantly amazed at just how much punishment the old natural growth timber in the houses down here can take and remain sound.
