Thanks, Project Clean Move!

A big thank you to the folks who worked on yesterday’s Oregon Hill cleanup as part of Project Clean Move, including VCU’s Tito Luna (who took the photo below), Clean City Commission’s Jane Hotchkiss, and neighbor Jimmy Blackford, who lead the Oregon Hill effort, the City trash truck workers and volunteers. A big NO thank you to the people who dumped their trash on the streets and sidewalks, and their landlords. We will see more code enforcement in the future. While VCU has stepped up with Project Clean and Green Move, residents need to report this illegal dumping activity with details about the offenders. More than 7 tons of debris was collected yesterday and the dumping is a serious burden on the City’s budget.
