WHAT (Richmond, Virginia U.S.A.) – The Honorable Parker C. Agelasto, Councilman, Richmond City Council, Richmond Central 5th Voter District, will hold a district-wide meeting for the Richmond Central 5th Voter District. This is part of regular meetings Councilman Agelasto holds, which include information on his Richmond Central 5th Voter District goals and accomplishments; a thematic agenda of current interest; and, special guests. These meetings are free and open to the public and all Richmond Central 5th Voter District residents are invited and encouraged to attend. Exploring the Biblical Wilderness At St. Andrew’s Church

In 1873, St. Andrew’s Church started as a bible class in the Oregon Hill neighborhood. Starting this Thursday, all are invited to a new gathering called Exploring the Biblical Wilderness. We will begin our study on January 14 with Gospel of Matthew (chapters 1-14), and our time together may include studies of historical and cultural context, theological themes, contemplative approaches to scripture, and biblical storytelling. 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm in St. Andrew’s House (236 S. Laurel Street). If interested, please email abailey@standrewsoregonhill.org or just show up! This class will occur on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month and is open to everyone!

Epiphany Lessons and Carols @ St. Andrew’s Church

On Sunday, January 10 at 5:00 pm, St. Andrew’s will hold its annual celebration of Epiphany Lessons and Carols with a reception following. Child care is available.

The St. Andrew’s Choristers will be joined by special guests from area congregations to sing anthems and carols, both old and new. All are invited for this evening of stunning music and sacred story.

Pearl Harbor Remembrance Ceremony At Va. War Memorial Today

Virginia’s Secretary of Veterans and Defense Affairs John C. Harvey will be the keynote speaker at the 74th Commonwealth’s Pearl Harbor Day Remembrance Ceremony, Monday, December 7, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Virginia War Memorial in Richmond.
Co-hosted by the Richmond Council, Navy League of the United States, the annual ceremony will be held in the Shrine of Memory on the grounds of the War Memorial at 621 South Belvidere Street. The event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.

Councilperson’s 5th District Holiday Party

The 5th District Holiday party will take place on this Wednesday, December 2nd at 6:30 p.m. at the Virginia War Memorial- 621 S Belvidere St. All 5th district residents are invited and no RSVP is required. We will be collecting unwrapped toys, books and clothing for children in the Richmond area that are in need. All toys will be donated to the City of Richmond and Radio One Annual Toy Drive. We look forward to seeing you Wednesday!
