Richmond’s Hollywood Cemetery A new book by Richmond resident John Peters, published by the History Center. This hardbound collection of historical and contemporary photographs and narrative about one of the country’s most famous cemeteries will be available in the History Center Gift Shop as of September 16th. Makes a great gift! Mr. Peters will deliver an Author Talk and sign books on October 5th at 6pm at St. John’s Church.

Repair Work for Hollywood Cemetery

RVA Construction is doing some repair work for Hollywood Cemetery. They are stabilizing the 1899 Chapel Addition which has shown some significant settlement, mainly within the past few years. The project entails underpinning the foundations, repairing the affected roof structure and re-building the porch roof system. They have started this week and expect to have the work done within 3 months. Road access into the facility will be cut down to one lane and public restrooms will be closed, but no major interruption of the facility will take place.
