Corner of Laurel and China

The corner of Laurel and China has seen a lot of action lately. On Sunday night, police evicted three or four squatters who were living in a tent in the backyard of a vacant house. The owner says renovations on the house should be finished this Fall. On Monday afternoon a car going up the wrong the way on Laurel hit a truck that was trying to cross Laurel on China. No word on how serious the injuries were, but this may add to calls for more street signs and traffic enforcement.

  1. Never mind the extra street signs; a couple of well-placed speed bumps would solve the problem pretty quick, as well as providing boundless entertainment for us locals! :)

  2. speed bumps are a terrible idea, they are bad for our cars and would cause as many problems as they intend to solve

  3. Speed bumps are annoying for people who do obey the street signs but have a low clearance vehicle. Perhaps noticeable, well placed one way signs in congruence with, for a short period of time, an electric sign that displays upcoming vehicle speed. This would make people more aware plus we can watch the bike kids race each other.

  4. What? More street signs? More “tagging” opportunities?
I vote for the speed bumps and entertainment!
