Trash/Recycling Pickup Tomorrow

This Wednesday is a “Red Wednesday”, which means trash and recycling pickup. Ideally, rolling recycling containers are stored and deployed in the back alleys along with trash cans. Please make sure you pick up containers after pickup tomorrow night.

If you have not done so already, don’t forget to sign up for your Recycling Perks.

Chinese Cooking As A Second Language

From Main Street librarian Patty Parks:

Doing a stay-cation on Labor Day weekend? Join us as we travel, cook and eat with Xiamin Wu, our guest chef from China, for Cooking as a Second Language! Next Sunday, Sept. 3, 11-1. This is my favorite collaborative program of RPL and @richmondhostel. Xiaomin(Showme) was a student with the VCU Global Studies program when I met her 5 years ago, I’m thrilled to catch up with her again! Join us as we learn how to make dumplings and hear her stories about cooking, family recipes and culture! What a great way to meet and engage with our diverse community. Call the library for reservations, 647-7223, class size is limited to 24.
