From FaceBook announcement:

There will be a snow fence set up across the site blocking off the playground area. Trucks will enter through the maintenance gate and drive across the greenspace and asphalt to reach the playground site. Parks is not closing the whole park for this effort, but please be mindful and deferential to the contractors as they complete their install. They’ve said the install will take approximately 4-5 weeks – weather dependent.

The playground renovation has been in the works for a while now and is greatly anticipated as there are more children in the neighborhood than in the last twenty years.
