Presidential Candidate Visits Tomorrow Evening

Dario Hunter, Presidential candidate and member of the Youngstown, OH Board of Education, visits Richmond, VA to talk about his plan to build a greener and fairer America as well as the strategy to grow the Green Party through the 2020 race and beyond.

He will be at the Main Richmond Public Library on Franklin Street at 6 pm tomorrow.

Buskey at Tredegar or “Cider by the River” On Saturday

Local company Buskey Cider will be doing pop-up at historic Tredegar this Saturday.

They’ll be pouring ciders at Historic Tredegar on the front patio of the American Civil War Museum overlooking the river and parts of Brown’s Island from 12-5pm on Sat, 7/13. Boka Tako Truck will be joining for quick eats while everyone enjoys the awesome environment at Historic Tredegar in front of the museum. A portion of proceeds from the event will go to the ACWM.

Favorite ciders from Buskey will be available, such as RVA Cider, and their popular summer seasonal, Watermelon Rosemary, and will all be sold by the pour.

Really, other than our important updates, there is not much on the agenda except perhaps electing a new Vice President as our sitting VP has moved out of the neighborhood. Belle Isle History Hike This Saturday

The James River Park is holding a Belle Isle History Hike this Saturday from 11 am to 1 pm.

Here is some information:

Join us for a family friendly hike to one of Richmond’s historic gems, Belle Isle. Learn about the geologic and human history of the area and the role Richmond played in the development of our nation. Please bring water, a snack and good shoes.

Street Closure June 9-12 For High School Graduations

From Richmond Police Department:

N. Laurel Street between W. Main Street & S. Cathedral Pl. will be CLOSED June 9th, 10th, 11th, & 12th. The hours of closure for each day will be from 1 PM to 6:30 PM. There will be No Parking permitted in this location during these dates & times. Altria Theater will be having High School Graduations on those days.

Open High’s Annual Arts Expo Approaches, On May 30

On Thursday, May 30, Open High School hosts its Arts Expo, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Clark Springs Elementary School.

This annual event includes an exhibition of student artwork, projects, and performances. There will be a Silent Auction with baskets, gift cards, plants, handmade ceramics, and a Taco Bar. Please join parents, students, and teachers to celebrate our wonderful school community. All proceeds will benefit the Fine Arts Department.
