MPACT Meeting Cancelled/Mayor’s Food Policy/Jewell Schedules 5th District Meeting

Please note that the MPACT/CAPS Meeting for Precinct 4, scheduled for Thursday, March 15th, has been cancelled. The next round of Community Conversations with the Mayor is quickly approaching and as soon as we have a date for Precinct 4, follow-up correspondence will be sent out. In the meantime, if there are any concerns or service requests, feel free to utilize the MPACT website, call 311, or reach out to your MPACT Co-Chairs (Charles Finley, Louise Caine, Horace Anderson and Barbara Abernathy).

Breaking News: Stabbing On Belle Island

Breaking news from NBC 12:

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) — Richmond Police are looking for a stabbing suspect, after a violent evening on Belle Isle Tuesday night.

Police tell us the victim was stabbed several times, but should be okay.

We’re told is all started out as some type of fight between the victim and suspect on Belle Isle. That escalated into the stabbing.

The victim was taken to the hospital. The suspect was still on the run.

RPD put up its plane, which used thermal imaging, to track the suspect. But, that suspect was never found.

Recent Car Thefts

Although Oregon Hill remains one of the most reported crime-free neighborhoods in the city, we are not totally immune.

100 block of South Cherry Street
An unknown person(s) entered the vehicle and stole the in-car radio.

THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE
3/5/12 – 3/6/12 12:00 p.m. – 9:10 a.m.
600 block of South Pine Street
An unknown person(s) broke into the vehicle and stole a firearm.
