SynerGeo Community Dinner on Monday

This Monday, June 16th, SynerGeo will have our Oregon Hill Community Dinner at 6pm. The dinners are held every 3rd Monday of
the month(except August due to our volunteering trip to Seattle. Our
doors will be open with lots of food to share! I plan to pass out
little flyers at the movie friday night in pleasants park, hopefully
we can spread the word and get more neighbors to join us!!!

Also at this month’s dinner we are going to be asking people to
help us out with one of our projects for this summer’s art camp, so
come prepared with a nice quote or a happy message!!

Please help us by telling your neighbors and friends about this, I
really want this to be known as something positive for everyone to
join in for Oregon Hill!

Hope to see you all on Monday!

Synergeo Community Dinner

Hi everyone-
On Monday APRIL 21ST will be another community dinner @6pm. They
are now every 3rd Monday of the month. A lot of people didn’t get our
newsletter, don’t know what SynerGeo is, or aren’t on this group so
they don’t know about it. So we want your help to spread the word.
Please tell any O.Hill residents about it and remind them to join
us!!!
If anyone is new to the group or knowing about SynerGeo, I’ll do
a quick recap. We are a small non-profit at the corner of S. Laurel
and Albemarle street(we’re located at 349 S. Laurel) that runs after
school art programs for K-5th graders and we recently started a teen
center on Wednesday nights from 5:30-7:30pm and run multiple other
outreach programs.

So please join us on Monday April 21st for our dinner @6pm. Bring a
dish, dessert or side dish if you can and we look forward to having
you.

*******Also just to throw this out there, we still have spaces
available for our SUMMER ART CAMP!! It is July 28-Aug 1 and Aug 4-8th
each day from 9am til noon. It’s free and kids can come for one week
or both.*****

Have a wonderful day!

SynerGeo/Kids oN The Hill seeks volunteers

A message from Katie Cowles from the neighborhood nonprofit SynerGeo:

My name is Katie and I’m the volunteer coordinator for SynerGeo. For those of you who are unfamiliar with us, we are a small non-profit at the corner of Albemarle St. and S.Laurel Street here in Oregon Hill. We run Free afterschool art and homework help programs for grades K-5th.

One of our programs, Kids on The Hill, runs on Tuesdays from 3:30- 5:30 and is held at Pine St. Baptist Church. It includes homework help time, bible study, recreation time, special interest groups and dinner. We are looking for volunteers who can spend at least one hour, if not all three with the children. We also still have more room for children to sign up for the program!!!

The special interest groups are a chance for someone to spend time with the chilren teaching them something new like Origami, juggling, drawing techniques, etc. If you have a talent or hobbie that you’d like to share, please feel free to let me know. And if you or anyone you know would like to volunteer at this program, please email me at cowleskatie@yahoo.com and I’ll reply right back with further info. Our program begins THIS TUESDAY @ 3:30.

Please spread the word as I would really like to see some more neighborhood involvement with this!
