New foundations

From WRIC television news report:
Richmond police responded to a reported shooting on the 200 block of South Laurel Street, three blocks from Monroe Park, just after 8 pm.
According to a Richmond police officer, two young men were hit by an unknown assailant who fired from a vehicle, “A car drove by, cracked off a couple of rounds.”
According to other reports, the drive-by shooting was related to an altercation at a near by college student party. Two young men suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Oregon Hill residents are greatly disturbed and upset by this incident.

A ferocious thunderstorm took down a large branch on the 600 block of South Laurel Street. It also brought down some wires and some neighbors lost power.

A new campaign?
And then in Monroe Park…

“The Blessings Fence is open for business ahead of the storm. Thanks to all who have contributed hats, gloves, scarves and other items.”
It’s raining now but the weather will turn to snow later with colder temperatures. And a good chance of more snow this weekend.
Downtown Richmond saw a powerful thunderstorm cell come through last night around 7 pm. Thankfully, no serious damage or injuries reported. And Laurel Street neighbor Teresa Birchett took a photo of what many downtown residents saw – a rainbow after the storm. Note: There is the possibility we may see more storms this afternoon after a lot of humid heat.
