Stop Sign Update
From a Holly Street neighbor:
After contacting the police about so many vehicles running the stop sign at Oregon Hill Parkway and Pine St, they sent out an engineer to look at it. They got back to me today with a summary:
The RPD traffic division has contacted the Department of Public Works regarding the traffic issues you brought to our attention. Together, they have devised the following plan of action:
– Oregon Hill Pkwy and Pine St
o DPW plans to place a stop bar and improve the placement of the stop sign.
– Holly and Pine
o DPW will place a stop ahead sign and replace the stop sign for the eastbound movement

Looks good today and tomorrow, but we may see some sort of winter precipitation on Sunday. Now might be a good time to get leaves off sidewalks.
A Good First Year For The Open High Fall Festival
While the morning was a bit droopy after last night’s rain, and I am sorry more neighbors did not take advantage, Open High’s Fall Festival was still a solid hit.
There was lots of great different kinds of chili for the chili-cook-off.
Tyler Meacham was one of the amazing musicians performing…here she does one of her own songs…

At any rate, here’s hoping that this tradition grows… perhaps next year the L’OPossum/OregonHil.net Jack-O-Lantern Contest can be incorporated into the festival…

I did not dare look into this scary microwave, but it is a good reminder that there is still time for Oregon Hill residents to enter the L’Opossum/OregonHill.net Halloween Jack-O-Lantern contest!
